Easy to install, works and seems sturdy enough. Can't ask for much more.
The default stand even works with the wallet style protector I have on my phone, something I didn't come to think of when ordering it. It's definitely not the optimal protector type for this type of stand, but it seems like it can grab it just enough even when "the wallet" is opened. This might vary a lot depending on the model of the protector and phone.

I got this phone mount to replace my old air vent mount. The rendition phone mount is very neatly screwed in behind the trim panel, keeping the dash looking clean and freeing up my air vent for use! The auto clamping phone holder is also great! I was sceptical at first if it would hold my phone tight enough, but it grips my Pixel 6a, even with the case on, without any issue! Strongly recommend to anyone with an E39! This is cleanest phone mount solution on the market I have seen anywhere for this car.

It came well packed, good quality and robust design. Good grip for iPhone 13. It´s not cheap but you will get what you paid for.

Honestly, I bought this mount just for the ball joint so I could use my iOttie phone mount to the left of the head unit. But this little contraption is actually really cool! It grabs your phone and holds a pretty good grip. The whole thing is sturdy. Now, my iOttie is in the glove box as a backup to the Rendition mount.
It is pretty neat isn't it! Although we also sell the balljoint only version, but we suppose this is a happy mistake wont you say :)?
